Dozens are dead, including at least 20 children after a monstrous tornado tore through suburban Oklahoma City. More than 120 people were treated at area hospitals.
 
Authorities have closed their investigation into the disappearance of Susan Powell, the Utah mother of two, who vanished in 2009. Police cited a lack of leads and the suicide of her husband, Josh Powell, who killed himself and the couple's two children in a house fire last year.
 
A British auction house has triggered a storm of controversy over plans to sell personal items that used to belong to Mahatma Gandhi, the hero of India’s independence. The items, including Gandhi’s shawl, sandals and rice bowl, will be auctioned on Tuesday.
 
The Detroit Red Wings are making the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks look vulnerable in their western conference series, winning 3-1 on Monday night. The Red Wings lead two games to one with game four scheduled for Thursday.
